What happens when ambition, fame and passion collide on the football field? Him Movie, the latest horror project produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, blends the thrill of sports with the terror of psychological horror. Directed by Justin Tipping, this upcoming film strips away the glitz of professional football to reveal some very dark secrets.
With a terrifying teaser already making waves, Him Movie will leave audiences asking just how far someone must go to achieve greatness – and what must be sacrificed in the process.
A Game of Glory and Terror
The Snow Movie follows rising quarterback Cameron Cade, played by real-life former college football player Tyreek Weathers. On the cusp of his big break, Cade suffers a life-changing brain injury after being attacked by a fan. As his dreams begin to crumble, Cade receives an unexpected invitation from his hero, legendary quarterback Isaiah White, played by Marlon Wayans.

White offers Cade a second chance—the opportunity to train at his secluded compound and reclaim his path to football stardom. But this is no ordinary training camp. The lines between mentorship, manipulation, and insanity begin to blur as Cade pushes his mind and body to their limits.
The High Price of Greatness
In the Snow Movie, the price of success is far more than early morning wake-ups and long practices. Isaiah’s teachings quickly turn from motivational monologues to something far more sinister. “What are you willing to sacrifice?” becomes the central question—and Cade’s horrified answer, “Everything,” hints at what’s to come.
The film makes plenty of horror imagery, including religious symbolism and a cult-like devotion to sports. In one striking scene from the teaser, Cade stands on a football field covered in blood within a pentagram, arms outstretched like a cross. It’s a scene that foreshadows the film’s central theme: the transformation of athletes into gods, and the dangers of that worship.

A Powerhouse Cast and Creative Team
The HIM movie features an impressive ensemble cast. In addition to Withers and Wayans, the cast includes Julia Fox as Isaiah’s influential wife, Elsie White, and supporting roles from Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, Tierra Whack, and MMA fighter Maurice Greene. Hip hop artist Guapdad 4000 has also joined the roster, adding even more star power to an already diverse lineup.
The original script, once titled GOAT, appeared on the Black List of best unproduced screenplays of 2022. Written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the story was soon picked up by Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. Director Justin Tipping, who also contributed to the final screenplay, brings his unique vision to the project, shaping it into a frightening allegory about fame and identity.
Peele’s Signature Influence
Although Jordan Peele doesn’t direct the Snow movie, his creative imprint is unmistakable. Like Get Out and Knope, the film grounds its horror in social commentary. Here, the focus is on the idolization of athletes, the objectification of their bodies, and the spiritual burden of relentless ambition.
Peele’s commitment to psychological horror shines through, especially in the film’s exploration of power dynamics and cult mentality. Under the direction of Monkeypaw Productions, the Snow movie has the quality that fans of high horror expect.
When and Where to Watch
Universal Pictures will release the Him movie in theaters on Friday, September 19. With its thought-provoking themes and unsettling visuals, the film is set to be one of the best entries in the horror genre this year.
If the teaser is any indication, viewers should be prepared for more than just staggering scares – they should expect a deep, unsettling look at what it means to devote your life to a game, and what happens when the game takes everything in return.
